KUALA LUMPUR, April 18 (Bernama) - The MIC will empower its information team at the grassroots level as the party prepares for the 14th general election (GE14), says the party's information chief L. Sivasubramaniam.

PUTRAJAYA, Feb 24 (Bernama)-- The MIC has expressed support for a proposal to eliminate the need to name the race of an individual on all official forms in Malaysia.

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 16 (Bernama) -- Three MIC veterans were today honoured with 'Lifetime Achievement Awards' for their contributions and sacrifice to the country's Indian community.

The awards ceremony organised by the Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur Indian Association were presented by MIC president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel to Toh Puan Umasundari Sambanthan, 85, Puan Sri Janaki Athinahapan, 89 and Tan Sri Dr Devaki Krishnan, 81.

MIC Secretary General A.Prakash Rao confirmed that Central Working Committee (CWC) has officially accepted the party's election result which was held late last year.

"We have taken a good decision and everybody is firm with the decision," said Prakash Rao.

Meanwhile, party Vice President Datuk M.Saravanan said that CWC had accepted the November 30 party election results.

"I urge all members to accept the decision made" said the Deputy Youth and Sport Minister.
